An extreme Easterly turn of events... For Sure!!
Over this past week, I had not resolved myself to being done with this adventure, I plugged into
a few websites that match crew with boats and captains. I sifted through a couple of rejects, and had resolved myself to heading north on a slow return to Battleground Washington. When this morning, I saw a post on one of those web sites, and reached out to
the captain. After some due diligence, and conversations with Captain Craig, I am boarding a plane tomorrow night, on my birthday, heading to St.Thomas, where I will board a 45-foot Jefferson trawler. (Same size and make as the one shown)
on the 12th...Our Journey will be approximately 30 days, stopping off at ports along the way such as; Puerto Rico, the Bahamas, Cape Hatteras, New York City, up into the Erie Canal, where are final destination will be Lk. Ontario.
Airfare R/T and expenses
and a per diem... ;-)
More than a few of you have been very supportive in my previous trip falling through, and I've offered support and encouragement that that particular trip "wasn't meant to be"...
Though it was difficult to hear at the time,
I appreciate your sentiment, words and Smiles as that one becomes a distant memory and I turn my compass Eastwardly to, once again take on an amazing adventure.
